Project: Stronger than Stigma (2018)

In the spring semester of 2018, we began a poster campaign focusing on the experiences of students with chronic mental illnesses. Many conversations on mental health are centered around general wellbeing and college stress – an important discussion to have on campus. Still, we aimed to highlight stories that are explicitly associated with mental illness, which can be isolating and exhausting.

We asked students to anonymously share what they wished others knew about their struggles. These responses were put up on posters across campus. There are 8 posters on this page, the last 2 posters have content warnings for: hospitalization, medication, and eating disorder. (Many of the responses we received could not be featured due to logistical constraints, but we hope to honor their stories properly in the future.)
